Type N, it's such an original idea, that one girl's blood is the cure to all known disease, and I had no idea there was going to be a sequel. But I'm very happy that there is.
Taking Names definitely did not disappoint.
Taking Names follows Nicolette's journey as she runs from the special agents that are after her and her blood. The novel starts in Sri Lanka, one year after the end of Type N, as Nicolette and Jason are getting married. They are such a cute couple and I was so glad that they ended up getting together at the end of the first book. Of course the President decides that he has to ruin their idyllic lives, and sends two CIA agents after them. And then, BOOM. Nicolette's life is turned upside down.
In Taking Names we get narrative from both Nicolette and special agent Noelle Jackson, this gives us insight into what is happening in team America. The addition of Noelle's narrative was a brilliant idea, it added greater depth to the story, and also I began to really care for Noelle. I now want to know more about what happens to both Nicolette and Noelle.
Taking Names was a great sequel to Type N, the story developed beautifully and we were allowed a view into what's happening in the American government. Throughout the novel the story flowed, sometimes dual narratives can feel jumpy, however this was not the case for Michelle Onuorah. The entire thing felt very natural and created very vivid imagery.
Sure, Taking Names could be longer, but now I can't wait for the next instalment in the trilogy so I get find out what finally happens to Nicolette.
I think that the feels in this book deserve a special mention. Seriously wow, the end had me in tears! And can I just say, the ending! I won't say anymore because I really don't want to spoil it! What I will say is that I highly recommend you read Taking Names, and if you haven't already, Type N!
