Top Ten Tuesday | Top Ten 2014 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn't

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

I probably have a lot more than ten books I meant to read in 2014 but didn't, when I reached ten I stopped looking to avoid the book sadness and disappointment. Here's my list in no particular order of books I really wanted to read in 2014, but I just didn't get the chance.

The Jewel by Amy Ewing
This book is sitting on my bookshelf as I type, I bought it with good intentions of reading it immediately, sadly it wasn't to be. I really want to read this, and I'm looking forward to (finally) starting it. I'm on placement for two months now, so finding time to read in the week is really hard, seems like it's going to be sitting on bookshelf for a while longer.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
I was pulled in by the rave reviews I've seen throughout the blogging world, and I liked the description, so why didn't I read it? Honestly, I just never got round to buying it, but it's on the list!

Trial By Fire by Josephine Angelini
Trial By Fire is the new take on Arthur Miller's The Crucible, a play I love and know far too well. As soon as I saw this in Waterstone's I knew I had to read it, now I just need to sit down and start!

Exquisite Captive by Heather Demetrios
This is another fantasy book that I wanted to read in 2014 but just didn't get around to, fantasy as a genre is really starting to sneak into my heart.

Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang
Falling Into Place certainly doesn't sound like a light-hearted read, it seems more like it fits in the full-on heart breaking category. It's the only book on this list that seems like it will be hard hitting, but that's all part of the appeal.

The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
This book sounds super intriguing and incredible! I want to but it immediately because I need this book in my life!

Landline by Rainbow Rowell
I absolutely adored Fangirl, so it was only natural to add Landline to my TBR list as soon as I saw it, unfortunately I just never got round to reading it, or even purchasing it for that matter!

Magnolia by Kristi Cook
I read a review of this book a while back and it's been sitting on my TBR pile ever since. It sounds like my kind of book, funny, set in the South and with romance thrown in, what could a girl ask for? I hope 2015 will be the year I read it!

Trust Me, I'm Lying by Mary Elizabeth Summer
I loved the Gallagher Girls books and what I've read of the Heist Society series by Ally Carter, so when I saw that this book is in that genre I added it to my TBR pile immediately! I'm looking forward to reading this one in 2015!

Illusions of Fate by Kiersten White
This fantasy novel really appealed to me, not as much as some of the others on the list if I'm completely honest, but that being said I still want to read it.

I'm genuinely gutted that I didn't end up reading any of these books in 2014, I still really want to read them all. Let's hope 2015 will be our year! Which 2014 releases were you meaning to read? Let me know in the comments! If you're new to the blog then I'd love you to follow me on Bloglovin'!
